SCURRY COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Scurry County has its first confirmed case of rabies this year.
On March 23rd a skunk bit a family's dog.
The skunk was shot by homeowners and sent off for testing.
It was later found positive for rabies.
The homeowners say their dog was current on its vaccines and was given a booster. The plan is to monitor the pup for 10 days.
If you see a skunk or any animal exhibiting signs or erratic behavior they need to be monitored.
Keep in mind it is important to make sure your animals are current on vaccinations.
