Andrews Police Chief retires

ANDREWS, TX (KWES) - The Andrews Police Department said goodbye to their longtime chief today.

Bud Jones officially retired from the department.

He was gifted with an etched revolver today and a plaque for his service.

Law enforcement from across the region showed up to honor Jones.

Jones had announced his retirement back in December.

He's been with the Andrews Police Department for 29 years, serving as chief for the past 27 years.

Lieutenant Ronny McCarver will take over as chief.

He's been with the department for more than 22 years.
