Fire in Big Lake sparks twice

BIG LAKE, TX (KWES) - Big Lake's volunteer firefighters tackled a grass fire in Big Lake twice yesterday.

The fire broke out yesterday afternoon off of Ferguson Road, about 8 miles from Big Lake.

High winds knocked down a privately owned power line, sparking the fire.

Firefighters put it out around 4 p.m.

Then, close to 9 p.m. yesterday evening, a large gust of wind came and rekindled the fire. Again, firefighters were called to put out the flames.

No injuries were reported and no structures were in danger.
