MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A couple of projects on the same road will begin next week in Midland County.
The Texas Department of Transportation will be working to resurface Farm to Market road 1788 from I-20 to FM 1787.
The project will start Monday on the 16-mile stretch.
It'll take about three weeks to completely rehabilitate the intersection of FM 1787 and FM 1788.
Drivers should expect lane closures and flaggers to help them get through the intersection.
After the intersection is finished, work will move down to the other end of the project and work north in two-mile segments..
The speed limit will be 45 miles an hour.
The second project crews will be working on is between State Highway 191 and State Highway 158.
Work will be centered at the four-way stop at the intersection of FM 1788 and Highway 158.
The project will widen lanes and improve access to county roads and businesses in the area.
Lanes will be closed during the day and flaggers will sometimes be used.
Lanes will be open at night but drivers may be on unpaved roads at times.
The project is expected to last about a month.
The speed limit will be 45 miles an hour in both construction zones.
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes and obey signs and flaggers if taking either route.
