LAKE COLORADO CITY, TX - A mother and her son were killed in a tragic early morning fire in Mitchell County.

According to the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office, they received a 911 call just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning reporting the house fire.

The fire was located at 4205 County Road 307 in the Cooper's Cove area.

Authorities said a family of five were in the home at the time of the fire.

Three members of the family were able to get out but the mother and her son were found dead inside the home.

The mother has been identified as Susie Turner, 37, and the son was identified as Robert Turner, 13.

Their bodies have been sent off to Dallas for autopsy.

Authorities say the fire marshal's office was called out to the scene.

No foul play is suspected.
