ODESSA, TX (KWES) - After a woman was arrested for shoplifting, it was discovered she had three prior theft convictions.
Odessa police were called out to Albertsons on West County Road, shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, in reference to a shoplifter.
Albertsons employees told officers they saw a woman put merchandise in her purse and exit the store, making no attempt to pay.
When searched by police, Brea Wood, 40, was found to have a glass pipe and a bag of cocaine.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Wood had three prior theft convictions which enhanced the theft charge to a state jail felony.
Wood was charged with theft of property with at least two prior convictions and possession of cocaine.
