ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - The Ector County elections office is gearing up to count over 16,000 ballots all by hand.

It took Monday and Tuesday just to print all the ballots.

Elections Administrator Mitzi Scheible said they hope to start counting the ballots on Wednesday morning.

Election administrators expect the counting to last until Thursday.

This all stems from the Ector County sheriff's race where Mike Griffis won the neck-and-neck race against Joe Commander.

Commander then asked for paper ballots to be recounted by hand.
