ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A former Ector County Youth Center employee learned her sentence on Tuesday afternoon.

Amber Mendoza, 26, was sentenced to two years behind bars for the charge of improper relationship with a person in custody.

She was also sentenced to two years probation for sexual assault of a child.

Mendoza plead guilty to the charges on Monday.

According to the arrest report, she had sex with a 16-year-old inmate while he was on a weekend furlough, last August.

It says Mendoza met up with the teen at his mother's RV in West Odessa, where the two had sex in the kitchen.

Other details from the arrest report include the fact that the teen told other inmates what happened between the two, that Mendoza confessed to deputies that they had sex, and that she had let inmates use her cell phone.
