The potential for severe weather returns late Monday into Tuesday morning for portions of West Texas. The Storm Prediction Center, SPC, has central and eastern Permian Basin are under a "slight risk." This means that a few of the storms that develop have the potential of becoming severe. The biggest threats will be hail, strong winds, and locally heavy rain.
Our latest models have storms starting right after midnight through sunrise. Isolated storms will stick around through the day Tuesday.
A better chance for rain comes in on Wednesday along our next cold front. Coverage of rain will be more widespread and cooler weather will arrive Wednesday and stick around through Friday.
