Fire danger is high for West Texas and especially across the Guadalupe Mountains today. A Red Flag Warning is in place for the Guadalupe Mountains of Eddy and Culberson counties. This warning is in place because relative humidity will be close to ten percent, southwest winds can gust close to fifty miles per hour, and above average temperatures are expected.
Outdoor burning and any activities that produce sparks should be avoided today. Dry vegetation can easily catch fire. Fires can spread quickly due to high winds.
A cold front will move through the area Tuesday morning. The front will bring in strong winds and relief from the above average temperatures.
