ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Six people were arrested and four others are being sought following a game room raid in Odessa on Tuesday afternoon.
Odessa Police said this investigation has been going on for several months and OPD has even gone undercover to find who has participated in the illegal activity.
A total of seven game rooms were raided. Those businesses include Discount Game Room (321 South Grant), Gold Pot Game Room (4300 Andrews Highway), Lucky Game Room (3632 Andrews Highway), Ok Marketing Game Room (205 West 42nd Street), Triple Diamond Game Room (2615 North Grandview), Happy Hour Game Room (2828 Andrews Highway) and Amusement Game Room (301 West Clements).
Police said as a result of their investigation, six people have been arrested so far. The arrests include:
- 33-year-old Luis Canales
- 54-year- old Sandra Brown
- 27-year-old Trug Vo
- 25-year-old Duong Ngo
- 33-year-old Son Quash
- 33-year-old Adelina Alvarez
Canales was charged with impersonating a security officer and unlawful carrying of a weapon, while the others were charged with either gambling promotion or keeping a gambling place.
Police seized mother boards, cash and paperwork. One man was even arrested for impersonating a security officer and he was carrying a weapon without a license.
Odessa Public Information Officer, Cpl. Steve LeSueur said, "This isn't just illegal gambling, this is organized criminal activity. We don't make the law we just enforce the laws. As long as they participate in illegal activity we're going to continue to monitor it."
Four others are at large and police need your help locating them. Those individuals include Ok Muraki, 72, Minh Tran, 76, Michael Hoang, 32 and Thanh Ton, 42.
The raid was conducted by Odessa Police with assistance from the FBI, DEA, HSI, DPS Criminal Investigations, Ector County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Comptroller's Office.
