ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A man made off with an unknown amount of cash after he handed a note to a clerk at Autozone on W. University, in Odessa, that said "I have a gun, desperate for money."

Odessa police say the unidentified man walked past several registers and picked up a pair of gloves before heading to the counter.

After the man handed over the note, the clerk asked the man if he was serious.

The report said the suspect responded by saying, "I don't want to hurt you."

Before he left, police say the suspect told the clerk, "do not call the police within the next 20 minutes. I know where you work and I will come back and kill you."

Police say the suspect is a Hispanic male in his 30's, 6' tall with dark hair with a buzz cut and dark eyes.  He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with pocket and a logo, a black baseball cap, black pants and black shoes.
