Police have been investigating the shooting death of 30-year-old Kasey Poole for a week.  On Wednesday, they released new information that paints a picture of the events leading to the shooting. Police say the women involved both had a relationship with the same person.

On the night of February 11, Police say Poole went to 24-year-old Samantha Chance's house. The two got into a physical fight and Poole was shot.

Chance called 911 and when police arrived on the scene, they found Poole dead with shell casings near her body.

Eunice police called in state authorities to help with the investigation. Poole's body was sent to the New Mexico state investigator. The autopsy revealed Poole had been shot five times.

Eunice police are waiting on the complete report, including toxicology.

No arrests have been in the case. They are still working to determine if Poole was shot in self-defense.
