Woman in critical condition after Golder Avenue shooting, suspect at large

A woman remained hospitalized Tuesday evening following an early morning shooting at Yancey's Mobile Home Park in the 4800 block of Golder Avenue, authorities said.

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A woman remained hospitalized Tuesday evening following an early morning shooting at Yancey's Mobile Home Park in the 4800 block of Golder Avenue, authorities said.

The unidentified suspect fled the scene before officers arrived around 1:30 a.m. and remained at large Tuesday night, according to Odessa Police.

Investigators said the gunshot victim, Tabitha Hearn, 32, was struck in the upper body by at least one bullet and transported to Medical Center Hospital (MCH) with life-threatening injuries.

A second victim involved in the altercation, David Mendez, 47, was treated at MCH for "minor injuries" and later released, police said.

"We're asking for the public's help in reference to this shooting," said Odessa Police spokesman Cpl. Steve LeSueur. "We're looking for a male subject right now considered to be a person of interest."

The unidentified man is wearing a sleeveless "Syracuse 15" jersey, white t-shirt, white baseball cap, dark-colored shorts and white sneakers in surveillance footage and photos released by authorities.

Police declined to reveal how the person of interest may be linked to the shooting or what led to the mobile home park altercation.

"The important thing is the circulate his photo and help us locate him," said LeSueur. "This is still a very active investigation."

The suspect is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, he confirmed, but will likely face murder charges if the gunshot victim passes away.
