Dawson County fugitive arrested for assaulting girlfriend

One man is behind bars after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend.

Latrell Cox, 25, was arrested early Thursday morning for possession of cocaine, assault causing bodily injury and possession of marijuana.

Police say they were called out to the 4300 block of North Grandview in reference to an assault.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 27-year-old female who reported she was assaulted by Cox.

The woman told police that Cox punched her in the head, face and arms and officers saw injuries to the woman's face.

Cox was later located and he was caught with marijuana.

Further investigation revealed that Cox was wanted out of Dawson County for possession of cocaine.

Cox was later taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
