ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - An Odessa mother will be spending the next 50 years behind bars.
That's after Tonya Carroll pled guilty on Monday to three counts of injury to a child.
Back in Dec. 2013, a local store clerk saw a woman making verbal threats to her child.
That's when police was called and they noticed that the child needed medical attention and was severely malnourished.
Tonya and James Carroll were both arrested for outstanding warrants and later arrested on child abuse charges.
James Caroll has not yet gone to trial.
