Midland Police seeing increase in tire, wheel thefts

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

The Midland Police Department is investigating after receiving several reports of tires and wheels being taken.

According to the report, all the victim vehicles have been 2014 or 2015 GMC Sierra pickups and the vehicles were located in the back of apartment complexes that were hit.

Reports have been made in the 500 block North Loop 250, 2300 block of Camp Drive, 3100 block of Caldera Boulevard, 4100 block of Polo Parkway, 4300 block of Raleigh Court and the 3100 block of North Midland Drive.

Sergeant Jimmy Young, of the Midland Police Department, said "We're patrolling those areas heavily right now and we are going to do our best to find these suspects."

Police believe the suspects are targeting vehicles during the overnight hours between midnight and 6 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
