Presidio addressing dead animal burials

PRESIDIO COUNTY, TX (KWES) - The City of Presidio is addressing a problem with their landfill.

There's just too many dead animals to bury.

According to the City of Presidio, they buried over 12 tons of animals in 2012.

However in 2015, the city buried a staggering 120 tons of animals.

The amount has become such a problem that the Presidio City Council decided to raise the flat fee for dumping animals from $22.50 to $150 a piece.

The city estimates that every time they bury a dead animal, they lose nearly $200 in potential revenue from burying ordinary trash.
