MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland City Council made a few big decisions today regarding the Scharbauer Sports Complex.
They recently approved four new multipurpose fields for the complex.
Tonight, they approved the contract with Field Turf USA for the installation of the turf, at a price of just over $1.8 million.
They also approved a contract to build new restroom facilities. These will cost the city a little more than $289,000.
According to officials, new fields are needed to give sports players more options and to keep the current fields from being further damaged.
They hope to have the fields completed by fall.
