Big Spring City Council approves no-kill shelter

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - The Big Spring City Council took a second and final vote Tuesday to approve having a no-kill animal shelter by 2017.
City Manager Todd Darden emphasized that the no-kill shelter should not cost more.
Darden says the animal control budget would remain the same.
However, he says a no-kill shelter would not be possible without local volunteers and agencies like the Humane Society.
The city will rely on them for adoptions and affordable spaying and neutering.
