ANDREWS, TX (KWES) - Many Andrews residents were in a panic overnight on Saturday.
According to Andrews County News, police said it was all connected to a robbery and kidnapping.
One of the three suspects was treated after an officer involved shooting late Saturday and released into custody the next day.
It all happened right before midnight on Saturday when police located three suspects they believed were involved with an aggravated kidnapping and robbery.
As police approached the suspects, they tried to flee. Police said the suspects drove towards a police officer, that's when police shot several rounds at the vehicle, disabling it. One of the suspects inside was hit, transported to Permian Reginal Medical Center and released to law enforcement Sunday.
Residents said Andrews is a quiet town and something like this is surprising.
A resident who chose to remain anonymous said, "I heard a car peeling out in the driveway right outside my house and then a screech. Then it sounded to me like eight gun shots real quick. I ran outside and there was police everywhere."
"It's surprising. It's a quiet neighborhood. Good people," said Andrews resident, Brian Haynes.
Eli Nunez, another resident of Andrews said, "It's just kind of scary around here."
The person who police think was kidnapped was not found inside the vehicle.
33-year-old Zecharia Brumley and 24-year-old Duane Larue are facing kidnapping and aggravated robbery charges, among others.
24-year-old Aaron Villanueva is facing separate drug charges.
