ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Dash cam video released by the Odessa Police Department shows a couple of men trying to rob City Pipe & Supply. Now Odessa Crime Stoppers need your help tracking down the two. The business was burglarized back in October, but the night it all happened, an officer barely made it out with his life.
"When he gets to the business where the burglary is actually occurring, that's when he sees the two suspects putting stuff into the back of their truck," said Odessa Crime Stopper's Susan Rogers.
The dash cam video shows the suspect hop into his pick-up and peel off in a matter of seconds, but gives the officer quite a scare.
"He actually swerves in toward the officer," Rogers said. "The officer does not get hit, but he has to dive to the ground to avoid being hit."
The suspect then takes off, racking up one charge for aggravated assault on a public servant, along with a burglary charge he and his sidekick will get slammed with.
"There was over $2,000 worth of property that was taken, and damage to the doors trying to break in," Rogers said.
Rogers urges the community to be on the lookout for a couple of things.
"There were two suspects," Rogers said. "We don't have very good video of the second suspect but the first one was a Hispanic male and he jumps into a tan colored single cab F-150 Ford."
