Fort Stockton Head Football Coach Taylor resigns

FORT STOCKTON- (KWES) NewsWest 9 has confirmed that Fort Stockton Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Derrick Taylor has resigned.

Taylor was head coach for the Panthers for the past five years.

Taylor told NewsWest 9 on Tuesday that it was his decision to resign and he will remain in his position as athletic director until his contract ends or a replacement is hired.

The Panthers missed the postseason this past season, finishing 1-4 in district and 4-6 overall.

It was also confirmed last month that Taylor had applied for the open Odessa High head football coaching position.
