HOWARD COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A truck carrying hot asphalt caught fire in Howard County. The fire happened at a construction site. Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan says the truck was being loaded when something went wrong. The truck already had around 2,000 gallons of hot asphalt in it when the fire started. We're told fire crews put out the flames quickly using a new pump truck with foam. The driver was able to get out unharmed. The truck was destroyed.Copyright 2016 KWES. All rights reserved.
