Odessa Police Department's officer of the month

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The Odessa Police Department has a new officer of them month. Officer Lyle Hahn, who has been with the department for two and a half years, was given the honor.

"I helped one of our homeless guys. I gave him some food and a drink at Whataburger. There's a lot of people out here and it's getting colder. So I mean we're here to help people. That's our number one job is to make sure that the people that live in this city can go home to their families. We do do a lot of things that go unnoticed and there's a lot of times where all the population only sees is the negative. The meaning behind what law enforcement actually is. We put our lives on the line for the citizens here," said Hahn.
