FM 1788 widening project to begin this month

MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Road work is scheduled to begin this month to widen FM 1788 in Midland County.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the work will include widening FM 1788 to five lanes between Highway 191 and Craddick Highway.

The project will also include work between Craddick Highway and Highway 158.

TXDOT officials say lane closures will be effect in the area and motorists are reminded that state law requires them to obey all warning signs and any flaggers in the area.

The speed limit in the project area will be 45 miles per hour.

Work is expected to be completed by March 2017.
