ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Back in December, a house on Drury Lane in Odessa was set on fire in broad daylight. Now Odessa Crime Stoppers need your help catching the arsonist. The suspect drives a black pick-up through a neighborhood, jumps out, starts a fire, and takes off.
"You do see the vehicle," said Odessa Crime Stopper's Susan Rogers. "You see the suspect get out of the vehicle, he goes over to the house and you actually see him set the fire in this video. He runs from the fire as soon as he sets it, gets back in his vehicle and takes off."
Arson is a second degree felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison.
"This guy was brave enough to do it in the middle of the day so it's really important to us to get information in on him to stop this so it doesn't happen again," Rogers said.
The whole thing was caught on home surveillance, which turned up with some blurry footage, but Rogers says there are a couple of things you can keep an eye out for.
"We really would like people to look at that truck," said Rogers. "Look at the size of the person you see running across the street, it doesn't look like a real big guy, and look at that vehicle."
