An Odessa man is behind bars after police say he evaded arrest and made a false report.

Police tried to pull over 36-year-old Kristopher Campbell for speeding down Highway 80 on his motorcycle.

Campbell refused to stop, which ensued a chase, reaching speeds up to 100 miles an hour.

Officers stopped chasing Campbell due to the dangerously high speed.

The bike was later found abandoned in the 100 block of 6th street and officers discovered Campbell had reported it stolen.

When police found Campbell, they recognized his jacket from when he had evaded them.

He confessed to fleeing from police and making the false report.

Campbell was arrested and charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and giving a false report to a peace officer.
