An Odessa man was killed in an industrial accident on Thursday afternoon in Midland County.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of West Highway 80.
The Midland County Sheriff's Office said a worker had been hit by a piece of oilfield equipment that was in the process of being loaded onto a flatbed trailer.
The worker, James Robert Landis, 74, of Odessa, was killed in the accident.
According to the report, Landis was the driver of the truck and was employed by Hughes Oilfield Transportation.
Authorities say Landis' body will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.
