ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa police officer injured in a shooting in December has been released from the hospital.
Odessa police say Cpl. Cory Wester was released from Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday night.
Wester, along with Sgt. Pete Gonzalez, were shot after trying to locate a wanted subject with a parole violation back on Dec. 23, 2015 at the Clayton Manor Town Homes.
Police said the suspect, Roy Daniel Garza, began shooting and Gonzalez was shot in the arm and Wester was shot in the chest and upper leg area.
Gonzalez was released just before Christmas.
Wester began his career with Odessa Police back in July of 2013.
