ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - The family of a man who died in a fiery crash are now filing a lawsuit for wrongful death.
The crash happened about a week and a half ago on south FM 866.
A crane truck and a semi were driving in the same direction, one behind the other.
The crane truck stopped to turn and the semi ran into the back of them causing the crane truck to go into oncoming traffic.
The crane truck then slammed into a pickup going the opposite direction trapping two men.
The truck caught fire and both men died on scene.
The family of one of those men, 22-year-old Victor Vasquez, is filing a lawsuit against the drivers and their employer, Waters and Waters Services.
Waters and Waters is a subsidiary of Schlumberger.
In an announcement from the lawyers, the family claims both drivers were on their cellphones and distracted when the accident happened.
They are seeking consequential and punitive damages totaling $120 million.
