ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

An Odessa man is behind bars after being charged in connection with a store robbery.

Odessa police were called out to the Best Buy on Highway 191 back on Dec. 20 in reference to a robbery and dispatch reported the suspect was last seen in the area of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

When officers arrived at the store, a 45-year-old male, who said he was working at Best Buy, saw a male subject leave the store with an item in his pocket.

The item was later determined to be a car charger.

Police say when the worker confronted the subject, he immediately ran from the store.

As the worker chased the subject, the subject turned around, displayed a knife and told the worker to stay back.

Authorities later located the man and identified him as 40-year-old Jorge Quiroz.

According to the report, Quiroz was found to be in possession of a stiletto knife.

Quiroz was arrested and has been charged with aggravated robbery.
