Retail gasoline prices in Texas drop by 2 cents
COPPELL, Texas (AP) - Retail gasoline prices across Texas dropped by 2 cents this week.
AAA Texas on Tuesday reported that the statewide average is $1.77 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel. That's 29 cents less per gallon than last year.
The national average remains the same from last week, at $2 per gallon.
In Texas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $1.83 per gallon, while drivers in Corpus Christi are paying the least at $1.69 per gallon.
AAA Texas says that leading into 2016, the national average is expected to continue to slide because supply should continue to outpace demand.
AAA Texas usually releases weekly gas prices on Thursday but this week provided the figures Tuesday due to the upcoming holidays.
