ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Two Houston men have been arrested in connection with a burglary at an Odessa convenience store.
On Wednesday morning, Odessa police were called out to the Town & Country Drug and Pharmacy on North Grandview in reference to a burglary in progress.
According to the report, a victim reported to police that two male subject threw a brick through the front door of the store.
When officers arrived, officers saw two men matching the suspect's descriptions and the suspect immediately began running southbound through the parking lot.
Police say they identified themselves and demanded that the men stop but the men continued running in separate directions.
Both men were eventually caught by officers.
The men were identified as Marcus Hargrove Jr., 23, and Kirkston Smith, 23, both from Houston.
Upon further investigation, authorities learned from the store owner that over 1000 Oxycodone pills were missing and police say surveillance video confirmed that both Hargrove and Smith broke the front glass door and entered the business.
Police say Hargrove had a prior conviction out of Houston for evading and Smith had two prior convictions out of Houston for evading.
Hargrove and Smith have both been charged with burglary of a building and evading arrest or detention with prior convictions.
Both men are behind bars at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
