Man Killed Following Chase That Spanned Two States

WINKLER COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

One man is dead after a chase that spanned two states.

According to DPS Troopers, the chase started in Jal, New Mexico, and ended on State Highway 115, about a mile north of Wink.

We're told troopers deployed spike strips which stopped the suspects’ car.

Both the Winkler County Sheriff's Office and Jal Police Department responded during the chase.

Troopers tell NewsWest9, a Jal police officer shot and killed the suspect after allegedly threatening officers.

No other details were made available.

The suspects name has not yet been released.
