1 Killed, 5 Injured in Dawson County Accident

DAWSON COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

A deadly crash in Dawson County killed one person and injured five others.

The accident happened on Tuesday night on Highway 180, just south of Lamesa.

Investigators say a car ran a stop sign and that's when a pickup slammed right into it.

A passenger in the car, Lauren Hawthorne, 26, of Artesia, New Mexico died in the crash.

Her driver, Trent Hawthorne, is in critical condition.

Four people from Lamesa were in the pickup.

The driver, Andrew Aldrich and two of his passengers, ages eight and four, are in stable condition.

Another one of his passengers, Cristy Reams, is in serious condition.
