City of Midland, Odessa Offer Heating Tips

It's definitely getting colder outside and that means many people will be trying to keep warm.

The City of Odessa is offering some tips to keep residents safe.

Make sure you test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, always have at least three feet between any heat source and anything flammable or where children may be, turn off space heaters when leaving the room or going to bed, never use a stove or oven to heat a home and have your fireplace cleaned and inspected by professionals.

The City of Midland is also suggesting having your heater checked by professionals, try to use fire safe decorations and throw away worn or damaged decorations and lighting, keep natural Christmas trees well watered and never leave candles unattended or on a combustible surface.
