ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa mother is on her way to prison after her children tested positive for cocaine.
Talisha Redic pled guilty to nine counts of endangering a child and was sentenced to two years behind bars.
In September 2013, Redic's baby was born at only 25 weeks.
The baby was in the NIC unit, and hospital staff ran several tests, using the baby's meconium fluid.
A few weeks later, the newborn died.
Court documents show the baby tested positive for cocaine, opiates and other drugs.
However, autopsy results show the baby died from natural causes.
Investigators discovered Redic had six more children at home, who also tested positive for cocaine.
