Tornadoes Rip Through Texas Panhandle

Tornadoes ripped through the Texas panhandle Monday night downing power lines and damaging buildings.

According to the National Weather Service, five tornadoes touched down, including two near Pampa.

Several businesses in the area, including a Halliburton plant, sustained heavy damage.

The plant was closed at the time but the company released a statement saying the storm caused a chemical leak at the plant.

The complex has been deemed safe by a Potter County HAZMAT team.

There were no reports of any major injuries.
