University of Texas Students in Paris During Attacks

After shocking attacks in Paris, at least 129 people are dead and 350 are injured. Not everybody has been identified and now it's come to light that several University of Texas students are in Paris and were there when the attacks went down. That has been confirmed by a spokesman for the university. He says he cannot say if any of the students were affected by the attacks. He has explained school protocol for a terrifying situation like this.

"Anytime that there's an incident overseas that's dangerous, we have an emergency protocol to reach out and verify the safety of all of our students because that's a paramount concern to the university. So we set that protocol in motion as soon as we heard the reports of the shooting in Paris this evening. So far we have no indications that anybody is in any kind of danger which we are very gratified," said J.B. Bird, Director of Media, University of Texas.

It's unclear when it will be confirmed if those students of the University of Texas are safe. University officials are working to inform the student body of what they do know right now. They have asked all family and friends of those students studying abroad in Paris to get in touch with the university's police department. Again, university officials believe that all of the students studying in Paris are safe. We're working to bring you updates on these details.
