ODESSA, TX (KWES) - It's national animal adoption weekend. Over at Petsmart in Odessa there are several adorable pups that need a new home. They are spayed and neutered and up to date on their shots. It's not just K-9's that need a forever home, there are some feline friends that are waiting to be adopted. If you decide to take home one of these furry friends tomorrow, Petsmart will hook you up with some free food to get started and even a free private training session. Rescue caretakers told us they are surprised how many pups were adopted earlier today.
"I am. This time of year, it's incredible, people just don't adopt. With the oilfield the way it is now days, it's common. People don't have a way to keep their pet," said Mesha Randolph with Dust Bowl Animal Rescue.
