MIDLAND, TX (KWES)
It's National Adoption Awareness Month and 34 foster children in the basin now have families.
It happened during an event hosted by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
The new parents were anxious for the ceremony, which made their new son or daughter an official part of their family.
“It's our way of completing our family. We have two older children and then we had one son pass away and then we had a miscarriage, so this is our way of completing our family,” said Chrissy Rivas, who adopted a child.
There are hundreds of foster children waiting to be adopted.
