Two Cases of West Nile Virus Confirmed in Scurry County

SCURRY COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

West Nile Virus has popped back up in West Texas.

The Department of State Health Services says there are two cases of the virus in Scurry County.

One of the cases is the serious neuroinvasive disease while the other is the less dangerous West Nile Fever.

Everyone is being asked to take precautions including limiting the chances of mosquito bites.

That includes using an insect repellent and draining any standing water.
