Veterans Day is coming up, and there are several opportunities throughout the Permian Basin to show your support.

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin is holding its Annual Veteran's Day Recognition Celebration on November 11, at 9 a.m. by the flagpoles on the main campus. The celebration will begin with a presentation of colors by students from both Odessa and Permian High Schools. The UTPB Choir and Falcon Wind Band will also perform, along with a balloon release by the UTPB STEM Academy.
Midland College Veterans Association will be hosting its Veteran's Day Celebration on November 11, at 11 a.m. at Beal Plaza on the MC main campus. The celebration will include a flyover in recognition of those who served in the armed services and a special "USO-style" performance by the Legacy Elite Bombshells.
A ground breaking ceremony will be held on November 11, in Pecos for Veterans Memorial Park. For more information on this event, you can call (432) 755-9343.
Texas Workforce Commission, Workforce Solutions Permian Basin and partners are holding the 4th Annual "Hiring Red, White & You!" Statewide Hiring Fair. The job fair will be on Thursday, November 12. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grand Texan Hotel on Wall Street in Midland. Texas veterans and their spouses will have opportunities to speak with area employers who are looking for qualified candidates for various positions. For more information, call (432) 367-1413.
Rusk Elementary School will be honoring veterans with its 16th Annual Veteran's Day USO Show on November 13, at 10:15 a.m. in the CAF Hangar at 9600 Wright Drive. Students will be performing songs, skits and dances during the program. The featured speaker at this year's show will be Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter, and food will be provided for veterans by HEB.
