Odessa Bartender Receives $1,000 Tip

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

A reason for Thanksgiving came early for a bartender at an Odessa restaurant.

Jessee Gutierrez is a bartender at Texas Road House and has been working there for four years.

Gutierrez says he went in for shift over the weekend and was taking care of his regulars that he's known for a while and became good friends with.

As Gutierrez went to pay him out that night, he received an unexpected gift with a $1,000 tip.

"At the end of the night, when I paid him out, that's when he put that tip on the thing and then I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to expect and when he was talking to me, there were tears in his eyes and he was just like there's something on my heart that's telling me to do this for you. He goes I see that you have a family, I see that you have a wife, a three month baby. He was like I wanna make sure that this makes it a lot easier for you in the next couple of months," said Gutierrez.

Gutierrez says he's still shocked by the kind gesture but he's very thankful.
