Odessa Police Looking for Suspects in 7-Eleven Robbery

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Odessa Police are looking for three suspects in connection with a robbery at gunpoint at the 7-Eleven at 87th and Andrews Highway early Tuesday morning. One suspect was armed with what appeared to be a rifle, but it has since been identified as a BB gun.

Police arrived at the scene around 2 A.M. where they spoke with the store clerk, who said he had just been robbed at gunpoint. He says the suspects entered the store and one pointed what appeared to be a rifle at him.

"Further investigation revealed that it was not a rifle that was pointed at the clerk. It was a BB gun," said Steve LeSueur of the Odessa Police Department.

The same suspect then demanded money from the register and cigarettes from behind the counter.

"The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, along with approximately $150 worth of cigarettes," said LeSueur.

A witness chased the suspects as they fled the scene. Eventually, he saw them being picked up by a white truck on the 8700 block of Pica.

Both men wore ski masks to conceal their identity. One suspect has been identified as a white male. The other was either Hispanic or white. There is no description yet for the driver of the getaway truck.
