Midland Man Accused of Choking His Common Law Wife

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

A man in Midland is behind bars after being accused of choking his common law wife.

Police found Kyle Richardson, 23, in the Victorian Inn parking lot choking a woman.

Once he released her, the victim told police she rented a room to get away from him for a night.

She told him where she was but not what room number.

Richardson found her room, went in and dragged her out of the shower.

He let her get dressed then continued dragging her out to the parking lot.

During that time, she was hurt by hitting the back of her head and her elbow on the concrete.

Richardson began choking her when she tried to run away.

He is being charged with family violence, assault by choking.
