Church Helps Rankin Flood Victims

RANKIN, TX (KWES) - The First Baptist Church in Rankin is helping victims of flooding.

The church held a potluck dinner Thursday night to provide them with a free meal.

Pastor Troy Strickland said it was at least one thing they could do to help.

"This community as a whole is really good about coming together and doing things. That's one of the things I love about my church.  I put the word out this morning, telling people we're going to provide a meal tonight. You know they all came though. All of this stuff was brought and provided. They always come through in a time of need, " said Strickland.

The First Baptist Church is taking donations for those who lost everything.

You can donate items such as clothing or household goods directly to the church.
