Odessa Boy Bitten by Shark Returns Home

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

An Odessa boy who was bitten by a shark off Galveston Beach is back home.

Gregory Slaughter, 13, was bitten earlier this month.

His mother tells NewsWest9 he is now undergoing physical therapy in Odessa.

It will be another couple of weeks before Gregory is able to return to school.

Gregory and his brother, Bobby, were swimming at Galveston Beach when a big wave knocked them down.

When Bobby came back up, he says he heard Gregory screaming and helped get him to shore.

A shark had bitten him on the back of the leg, on his foot and on his hand.
