Ector County Sheriff's Office confirms the suspect wanted for murder in a shooting that happened on October 13 is now in custody after a traffic stop.
The traffic stop took place in the area of Dixie Avenue and University Boulevard on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Matthew John Armendariz, 34, had an outstanding warrant for a the murder of Jimmy Edward Porras on October 13 at 2500 Alturas Avenue.
Odessa Police pulled over Armenderiz and say they found 124 grams of meth and two Xanax tablets in his possession at the time of the arrest.
Armendariz was transported to Ector County Jail and also charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
